Obverse description Youthful head of Dionysos facing left, rendered in fine archaic-to-classical Greek style, his flowing hair dressed in thick wavy locks and adorned with an ivy wreath, the leaves clearly articulated. The facial features are delicately modeled, with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a serene expression characteristic of late fifth- to fourth-century Macedonian coinage. The portrait fills most of the flan, with the hair cascading behind the neck in a graceful curl. No legend appears on the obverse.
