| 背面描述 | The eponymous hero and hunter Aigestes (Acestes) is depicted nude, standing to the right with his left foot raised and resting upon a rock; a pileus hangs from his neck, and he holds two hunting spears over his left shoulder. Two hounds occupy the lower field: one at bay to the right and the other crouching to the right, sniffing at an ithyphallic herm positioned to the right of the composition. The scene is executed in a vigorous, naturalistic style consistent with Sicilian civic coinage of the early 4th century BC. |
