Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with high relief. The goddess wears a crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, with the bowl covering the crown and the cheekpieces raised to reveal her serene facial features. Elaborate locks of wavy hair escape from beneath the helmet and fall along the neck. The field is plain, with no inscription, consistent with the coinage tradition of Side in Pamphylia.

Reverse description Nike, the winged goddess of victory, strides briskly to the left in dynamic Hellenistic fashion, her drapery swept back by her motion. She extends her right hand forward to present a wreath, symbolizing triumph and civic honor. In the left field, a pomegranate — the civic emblem of Side — serves as the principal city badge. The ethnic legend ΔIE (an abbreviated form of ΣΙΔΗΤΩΝ) appears in the field, identifying the issuing city.
