| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with high relief. The goddess wears a crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, with the bowl covering the crown and the cheekpieces raised to reveal her serene facial features. Elaborate locks of wavy hair escape from beneath the helmet and fall along the neck. The field is plain, with no inscription, consistent with the coinage tradition of Side in Pamphylia. |
