| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two serpents coil symmetrically around a central bowcase (gorytos), their heads raised on either side, forming the primary design element of this cistophoric reverse type. Above the bowcase appears the monogram ΓA identifying a civic or magistrate symbol. To the left, the date letters KΔ (denoting year 22 of the Attalid or local Sardian era) appear above the mint ethnic ΣAP identifying Sardes as the issuing city. To the right stands a recumbent or striding lion, a civic badge of Sardes. The design follows the standard Attalid cistophoric reverse convention. |
