Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, rendered in the Classical style. The goddess wears a crested Attic helmet adorned with an olive leaf scroll along the bowl and a three-part palmette above the visor. The eye is depicted in the archaic frontal convention despite the profile view, a hallmark of fifth-century Athenian coinage. The neck is unadorned, and the cheek-pieces of the helmet are raised. The style transitions gradually from the archaic to the fully Classical across the series.
