Reverse description The forepart and neck of a horse are depicted in left profile, rendered with expressive musculature and a naturalistic mane falling in striated locks. A tall, slender date palm tree with pendant fronds and a cluster of dates rises prominently in the right field, a characteristic Punic symbol of North African and Sicilian coinage. In the exergue, a Punic inscription in Neo-Punic script reads 'MHNT', translating as 'the People of the Camp' (i.e., the military community or army). The design is enclosed within a beaded border.
