| 背面描述 | A stately date palm tree dominates the field, rendered with meticulous detail: the textured, scale-like trunk rises centrally and supports an impressive crown of long, gracefully arching fronds spreading to fill the flan. Two clusters of dates hang symmetrically from the base of the crown, flanking the upper trunk, serving as the quintessential Punic symbol evoking Carthage and the Phoenician homeland. The Phoenician legend is inscribed in two groups along the lower field, one to the left and one to the right of the trunk base, reading 𐤒𐤓𐤕 𐤇𐤃𐤔𐤕 (Qart Hadasht, meaning 'New City'). The engraving is bold and confident, characteristic of the finest Siculo-Punic die work of the late fifth to early fourth century BC. |
