| Opis rewersu | A large crab is depicted frontally at centre, rendered with exceptional naturalistic detail: the broad carapace, prominent raised claws spread to either side, and eight splayed legs are all clearly articulated in high relief. Directly below the crab, in the lower field, an eight-pointed star or wheel motif serves as a secondary type, a symbol frequently associated with Akragas. The reverse field is otherwise plain, and the flan edge is irregular, consistent with hand-struck production of the archaic period. |
