| Reverse description | Athena's sacred owl (Athene noctua) stands upright facing, rendered in bold relief with large frontal eyes, the head turned to face the viewer. The bird's plumage is finely detailed with incised feathers on the wings and body. To the upper left, an olive sprig with berry is depicted, symbolising the sacred tree of Athena and the city of Athens.
