| 正面描述 | Bare head of Zeus Ammon facing right, rendered in an archaic-influenced style with elaborately engraved curling hair and a short, stylized curling beard. The facial features are boldly modeled with a strong profile, prominent nose, and well-defined eye. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend or border, the entire composition dominated by the large, expressive effigy filling the flan. |

Barke was a Greek colony in Cyrenaica — modern Libya — founded around 560 BC by settlers from Cyrene following a dynastic dispute. The city maintained a distinct civic identity from its more powerful neighbor, and its coinage reflects that independence. Production likely ceased when Alexander the Great's campaigns dissolved the old Cyrenaic political arrangements after 331 BC.
Surviving examples are genuinely scarce; Barke never approached Cyrene's output volume.
