Obverse description Janiform double-headed effigy, comprising a laureate and bearded head of Zeus facing left conjoined back-to-back with a diademed head of Hera facing right, rendered in the bold relief characteristic of late Hellenistic civic coinage. The two divine portraits share a common neck, a convention long associated with the island of Tenedos. The surfaces of both faces retain crisp detail in the hair and diadem, reflecting skilled die-cutting of the period.
