Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in the classical Athenian New Style tradition. The goddess wears a crested Attic helmet, the bowl of which is decorated with a griffin in relief. The portrait exhibits strong, idealized features characteristic of late Hellenistic Athenian coinage, with fine engraving detail visible in the helmet crest and cheek guards.
