Obverse description Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with long, flowing locks descending to the neck and a laurel wreath crowning the hair. The facial features are idealized and youthful, with a smooth, well-modeled cheek, straight nose, and slightly parted lips. The hair is elaborately detailed with deeply engraved curling tresses framing the face and falling behind the ear. The portrait fills the flan with confident, high-relief workmanship characteristic of Aeolian civic coinage of the second century BC.
