Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square divided into four equal recessed compartments by a raised cross, each quarter exhibiting a granulated or rough surface texture. The deeply sunk incuse square is of the early type characteristic of archaic and early Classical Greek coinage produced in the northern Aegean region. No legend is present. The bold geometric design is typical of Akanthian silver coinage of the fifth century BC.
