Reverse description Within a shallow incuse square, a he-goat strides to the right in a naturalistic, well-modeled pose, his head raised and turned slightly, with a pronounced beard and curved horns finely rendered. To the right of the goat stands an amphora, serving as a subsidiary symbol characteristic of this issue. Above the goat, the partial ethnic legend AIN is inscribed in archaic Greek characters. The incuse square format and crisp relief typify the hammered coinage of Ainos during the early classical period.
