Obverse description Youthful head of Dionysos facing right, crowned with an ivy wreath adorned with corymbs and broad leaves rendered in high relief. The deity's long, wavy hair falls in thick locks about the neck, conveying an idealized Hellenistic treatment of the god. The facial features are finely modelled with a soft, rounded cheek and a slightly parted lip characteristic of late Hellenistic Thracian die work. The open field surrounding the portrait is plain and unlettered.
