| Obverse description | Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic style with richly detailed, deeply carved curling hair and a full beard. The portrait displays a commanding physiognomy with strong brow and prominent features characteristic of late Hellenistic engraving. The head fills the flan without a border or legend, the field showing the broad, slightly concave surface typical of hammered silver tetradrachms of the period. |

| Reverse description | Cult statue of Demeter or Kore presented frontally, erect upon a base, rendered in a stiff archaic idol style with arms extended; the figure is flanked on either side by the divided ethnic legend ΜΥΤΙΛΗ / ΝΑΩΝ. The central group is enclosed within a wreath of olive or ivy leaves executed in high relief, the branches curving symmetrically around the entire field. Magistrate initials or monograms appear in the lower field flanking the statue's base. The overall composition is typical of the civic coinage of Mytilene in the second century BC. |
