| Obverse description | Archaic profile bust of Athena facing right, rendered in the severe early Attic style characteristic of the pre-classical period. The goddess wears a close-fitting Attic helmet with an upright crest and a decorated bowl adorned with a beaded border, with locks of hair visible escaping beneath. A round disc earring is visible at the ear, and three ornamental curls fall along the cheek and neck. The eye is rendered in the archaic frontal convention within the profile face, lending the effigy its distinctive early artistic character. |
