| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. The goddess wears a crested Attic helmet adorned with a serpent coil and scroll ornament along the bowl, with a row of bead-like pellets visible beneath the cheek guard. Her hair falls in stylized curls behind the ear, and she wears a pearl necklace. The portrait is rendered with considerable three-dimensional modelling, occupying the full field of the flan. The abbreviated legend MNA appears to the left in the field. |
