背面描述 Apollo Grynios standing in three-quarter pose facing right, holding a phiale in his extended right hand and a laurel branch in his left. An omphalos and amphora are depicted at his feet, referencing his oracular sanctuary at Grynion in Aeolis. The ethnic legend MYPINAIΩN appears to the left of the figure alongside a monogram, and the entire composition is enclosed within a wreath of laurel. The design reflects the civic pride of Myrina and its association with the Grynian Apollo cult.

附加信息

Myrina, an Aeolian city on the western coast of Asia Minor, struck these tetradrachms during a period of relative autonomy under the broader Attalid sphere — Rome had dismantled the Macedonian kingdom at Pydna in 168 BC, reshaping power across the Aegean and leaving cities like Myrina navigating careful diplomatic ground. The issue follows the "stephanephoric" style popular among contemporaneous Hellenistic civic mints, deliberately distancing itself from royal portrait coinage at a moment when advertising independence had real political utility.

Sacks' die study remains the essential reference for sequencing this series.
