Obverse description Helmeted head of Artemis (or a female deity) in right-facing profile, wearing a Corinthian-style helmet adorned with a laurel wreath. The hair is rendered in fine flowing locks beneath the helmet, and the facial features are executed in a refined early Classical style. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered coinage of this period, with the design occupying the full field without a surrounding legend.

Reverse description A tripod cauldron depicted in frontal view, its legs resting on a baseline, surmounted by a rounded bowl with ornamental handles. A grain ear (wheat stalk) appears to the left of the tripod, and a thyrsus or similar staff to the right, both flanking the central cult object. Above the tripod, a laurel branch extends horizontally across the upper field. The ethnic legend ΦΙΛΙΠΠΩΝ is inscribed vertically to the right of the central device in Greek characters, identifying the issuing city of Philippi.
