| Obverse description | A quadriga proceeding to right, driven by a charioteer clad in a chiton, who holds the reins in his left hand and a kentron (goad) in his right. Nike flies right above the horses, extending a wreath to crown them. In the exergue, a lion runs to right, a motif characteristic of early Syracusan coinage of the transitional period. |
