| Descrizione del dritto | Facing right, the helmeted head of Athena Parthenos is rendered in fine high relief, modelled after the chryselephantine cult statue by Pheidias. The Attic helmet is adorned with a prominent crest, a decorative floral motif above the visor, and cheekpieces pushed back to reveal the goddess's serene profile. Long wavy locks of hair fall beneath the helmet onto the neck and shoulder, while the ear is partially visible. The border of the flan is defined by a row of raised dots forming a bead-and-reel inner border, characteristic of the New Style Athenian coinage. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | An owl, the emblematic bird of Athena, stands to the right with head facing on a Panathenaic amphora, rendered in the distinctive style of New Style Athenian coinage. To the left field appears a magistrate's monogram, while to the right an eagle stands to the right above a second monogram. The letter Δ appears on the body of the amphora, with the letters ΣΦ inscribed below. The entire design is encircled within an olive wreath in high relief, a hallmark feature introduced on Athenian New Style tetradrachms from circa 165 BC onward. |
