Reverse description A deep square incuse punch dominates the reverse, divided into four triangular compartments by diagonal ridges meeting at the centre, creating the characteristic mill-sail or windmill pattern. Within a smaller recessed inner square, an eagle with spread wings is depicted in flight, facing left, rendered in low relief within the incuse field. Partial traces of the ethnic inscription, likely ΟΛΥΝΘΙΟΝ, appear along the border of the incuse square, though partially visible. The incuse technique is typical of early northern Greek coinage of the Chalcidian region, reflecting contemporary monetary conventions of the late archaic period.
