| Beschrijving voorzijde | Baal, the Semitic deity, enthroned in left profile, rendered in a Greco-Persian artistic style with a semi-draped torso. The god is depicted seated upon a throne, his right hand grasping an upright sceptre or long staff, his body turned slightly forward. The finely modelled muscular figure reflects Hellenistic influence on the coinage of the Babylonian satrapy. No inscription or legend appears in the field. |
