Reverse description A labrys (double axe) set vertically on a handle at centre, flanked by various symbols: to the left a bunch of grapes and the magistrate's monogram ΠΑ in the lower left field, to the right two pine cones and a six-pointed star, all within a wreath of olive or laurel branches encircling the entire reverse field. The ethnic legend ΤΕΝΕΔΙΩΝ arches across the upper field above the axe. The labrys is the principal civic emblem of Tenedos, and the encircling wreath provides a formal decorative border characteristic of late Hellenistic island coinage.
