| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing left, the wreathed and elegantly coiffed head of a female divinity — most likely a nymph or Persephone — rendered in the fine Sicilian engraving tradition of the late 4th century BC. The hair is elaborately dressed with a beaded diadem or wreath, with loose wavy locks cascading behind and over the neck. A pendant earring with a drop element is visible at the ear. The modelling of the face is sensitively executed, with full lips, a delicate nose, and a slightly downcast eye, reflecting the influence of the Syracusan die-cutting school. |
