Obverse description Radiate head of Helios rendered in high relief, depicted in three-quarter view facing slightly to the right, filling the flan. The god's youthful, idealised visage is framed by voluminous, tightly curled hair radiating outward in finely engraved wavy locks, conveying the solar deity's luminous nature. The modelling of the facial features — broad forehead, heavy-lidded eyes, straight nose, and slightly parted lips — exemplifies the accomplished early Rhodian die-engraving style of the late fifth century BC. The neck is visible at the base of the bust, set against a granular, lightly striated field. No legend or border is present on the obverse.
