Obverse description Facing head of Helios, the sun god, rendered in fine early fourth-century BC style, with wavy hair radiating outward from the crown and falling in thick locks about the neck. The face is depicted in three-quarter view tending toward full frontal, with deeply modelled features including prominent eyes and full lips. The hair is arranged naturalistically, with individual strands carefully articulated, conveying a sense of movement and divine radiance. No inscription appears on the obverse; the design fills the flan with bold high relief characteristic of the Chian-Rhodian weight standard coinage.
