| Obverse description | Facing head of Hermes, turned very slightly to the left, rendered in fine high relief with softly modelled features characteristic of the mid-4th century BC Thracian engraving tradition. The god is crowned with the petasus, his distinctive broad-brimmed travelling hat, adorned along its brim with a beaded band clearly visible across the forehead. Curling locks of hair emerge from beneath the petasus on either side of the face, rendered in precisely detailed spiral ringlets. The portrait fills the flan with commanding presence, the eyes gazing frontally with a serene, idealised expression. |

| Reverse description | A goat stands in profile to the right within a shallow incuse square, depicted with careful attention to musculature and naturalistic detail; the animal's head is raised and turned slightly, with prominent curved horns and a short beard. The ethnic legend ΑΙΝΙΟΝ appears in Greek characters above and to the left of the goat, identifying the issuing city of Ainos.
