Obverse description Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with idealized youthful features. The hair is elaborately dressed in wavy locks beneath a laurel wreath, with long tresses falling in a twisted braid behind the neck. A small monogram or control mark is visible in the left field behind the head. The portrait displays the refined, almost androgynous quality characteristic of late Hellenistic die engraving from Aeolis.
