| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large eagle with fully spread wings stands facing left atop a hare, which it grips with its talons, the prey shown prostrate on the ground. The eagle's plumage is rendered in fine engraved detail, with feathers clearly delineated across the wings and breast. A small crab, the civic emblem of Akragas, appears in the lower left field. The composition fills the flan with commanding presence, embodying the chief cult symbol of Zeus Akraios revered at Akragas. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend. |
