| Obverse description | A charioteer drives a walking quadriga to the left, depicted in fine Sicilian style with careful rendering of the horses in stride. Nike flies to the right above the team, extending a wreath to crown the horses in a gesture of victory. The composition fills the broad flan with bold relief characteristic of the mature Geloan coinage of the late fifth century BC. |
