| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large double-headed axe (labrys) positioned vertically at centre, serving as the principal civic symbol of Tenedos, with a decorative knob at the top of the handle. Above the axe, the ethnic legend ΤΕΝΕΔΙΩΝ is inscribed in bold Greek letters across the field. In the lower left quadrant, a tripod flanked by a bunch of grapes is depicted as a secondary symbol; in the lower right quadrant, a small figure of Eros or a winged deity stands holding an object. The entire design is encircled by a wreath of olive or laurel branches tied at the top, framing the composition with an elegant vegetal border characteristic of late Hellenistic civic tetradrachms. |
