Obverse description Laureate head of Apollo facing left, rendered in fine Classical Greek style with flowing wavy hair bound by a laurel wreath. The facial features are sensitively modelled in high relief, with a straight profile, almond-shaped eye, and delicately rendered lips. The hair falls in long undulating locks behind the neck, characteristic of 4th-century BC Abydene die engraving. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered coinage of this period, with the portrait occupying the full field.
