Beschrijving keerzijde	The forepart of the river god Gelas rendered as a man-headed bull, facing right, in a bold and vigorous style characteristic of late fifth-century Sicilian coinage. A grain ear is placed in the upper field above the protome, serving as a civic and agricultural symbol of the city. The inscription ΓΕΛΑΣ appears beneath the bull's forepart, naming the river deity who was the eponymous patron of the city of Gela.
