| 裏面の説明 | Central field features a monogram of the Achaean League, the characteristic interlocked letters forming the federal symbol, surrounded by a dotted border. The legend ΑΧΑΙΩΝ appears partially around the periphery, with the ethnic designation of the mint city ΟΡΧΟΜΕ- completing the inscription. The monogram is flanked by additional symbols or letters consistent with Achaean League bronze coinage typology. The overall design is characteristic of the standardized federal coinage struck at Orchomenos during the League's final period of autonomy. |

The Achaean League's bronze issues from Orchomenos fall within a period of intensifying Roman interference in Greek affairs that culminated in the destruction of Corinth in 146 BC and the dissolution of the League itself. Orchomenos, an ancient Boeotian city with a complicated political history, was operating under League authority during this period following earlier Macedonian and then Roman-supervised reorganizations of central Greece.
BCD Peloponnesos 1583 places this piece within a well-documented die study from the BCD collection sale, the single most important reference for League bronzes from individual poleis.
