Obverse description Bearded male head facing right, rendered in bold relief with a wild, leonine quality; the hair is depicted in thick, striated locks swept back from the forehead, and a heavy beard frames the jaw and chin. The facial features are deeply modelled in a vigorous provincial Hellenistic style, conveying a powerful, almost archaic expressiveness. The figure is commonly identified as Zeus or a local river god associated with the Ainianes tribe of Thessaly. The irregular flan shows natural casting roughness at the periphery. No legend is present on the obverse.

Reverse description Standing male figure, likely Athena or a warrior deity, depicted in three-quarter view facing left, advancing with a spear held upright in the right hand and a shield on the left arm; the figure wears a short chiton and is rendered in a vigorous, if somewhat crude, provincial Hellenistic style. The ethnic legend ΑΙΝΙΑΝΩΝ appears to the left of the figure, and the magistrate's name ΕΥΞΕΝΟΣ runs to the right, identifying this issue to the strategos or eponymous magistrate Euxenos. The design fills the compact, irregular flan typical of late Hellenistic bronze coinage from Thessaly. A horizontal ground line is visible beneath the figure's feet. The overall execution reflects the modest engraving standards of a regional mint at Hypata.
