Obverse description Facing female head, likely a nymph or goddess, depicted full-face within a dotted border. The hair is parted centrally and drawn back beneath a veil or sakkos, framing the face in a severe, archaic style transitional toward the Classical period. The facial features are modelled with broad, somewhat stylized planes, with large almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and parted lips. A necklace or collar is visible at the base of the neck. The design fills the flan, which is of irregular, slightly uneven fabric typical of early Thessalian bronze coinage.
