Reverse description Isaac Komnenos, self-proclaimed ruler of Cyprus, depicted standing facing on a low dais, crowned with the stemma and vested in the imperial divitision and chlamys. He holds a cruciger sceptre in his right hand and a cruciger globe in his left, asserting his claim to imperial authority. The Hand of God descends from the upper right field. Flanking inscriptions identify the ruler on either side of the figure, and the composition is enclosed within a beaded border. The die-work reflects the provincial character of the Cypriot mint and the urgent circumstances of Isaac's autonomous coinage.
