Reverse description Quartered shield of the Dauphine arms, displaying fleurs-de-lis in the first and fourth quarters and a dolphin in the second and third quarters, surmounted by a crowned dolphin above the shield as the emblem of the Dauphiné. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, and the devotional Latin legend encircles the design in the outer field. The overall composition is typical of the provincial coinage struck for the Dauphine under Francis I.
