Test Note - Harimau Sumatera

Perum Peruri — the state security printing works established in 1971 — produces this note entirely in-house at its Karawang facility, which is relatively uncommon for a developing nation's currency printer and reflects a deliberate policy of keeping sensitive production domestic. The "Harimau Sumatera" designation references the Sumatran tiger, a species whose population had already declined sharply by 2004, with IUCN listing it as critically endangered that same year.

Colour-shifting ink on a domestically printed note from this period is worth noting — the technology was still largely the domain of Giesecke & Devrient and De La Rue at the time, making its appearance here a marker of Perum Peruri's expanding technical capability in the early 2000s.
