| Obverse description | The central vignette presents an intaglio portrait of the celebrated Indonesian expressionist painter Affandi (1907–1990), rendered in fine engraved detail with his characteristic long hair and goatee; a gestural self-portrait in Affandi's signature style appears to the left, accompanied by his name and lifespan printed vertically and a small painter's palette with hand motif at the upper left. The legend PERUM PERURI runs across the top centre above the denomination DUA RIBU SATU and the year 2001, all set over a guilloche underprint in earthy green and brown tones. Flowing organic ornamental motifs occupy the right margin, completing the composition. |
