Obverse description A six-rayed star in high relief, with elongated tapering rays radiating from a central raised boss, all contained within a broad raised circular disk. The casting is bold and schematic, characteristic of the heavy cast bronze aes grave coinage produced at Luceria during the Second Punic War period. The field between the rays is deeply recessed, creating strong contrast with the prominent relief elements. No legend or inscription is present.

Reverse description A dolphin depicted in left-facing profile in high relief, its body arched naturalistically, set upon a broad raised circular disk. Three pellets serving as the mark of value (teruncius) are positioned below the dolphin within the disk. The casting is robust and relatively crude, consistent with the utilitarian aes grave tradition of Lucerian mint production. No legend or inscription accompanies the design.
