正面描述 Central field dominated by the royal cypher of Sigismund III Vasa, rendered as an ornate interlaced 'S' monogram surmounted by a small crown, with the date split to either side: '15' at the left and '96' at the right. The Roman numeral 'III' denoting the denomination appears prominently at the top of the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with the coin's irregular flan edge characteristic of hammered production. Decorative foliate or pellet ornaments accompany the monogram in the lower field.

附加信息

The Malbork (Marienburg) mint had a complicated existence under the Commonwealth — it operated intermittently, dependent on royal privilege renewals and the political appetite of the Prussian estates who resented centralized monetary control. By 1596 the mint was under lease, and quality control was inconsistent enough that many issues from this period were subject to contemporary complaints about underweight flans and debased alloy.

Kopicki 580 is among the more precisely attributed varieties for this type, distinguishing Malbork product from the superficially similar output of Poznań and Bydgoszcz in the same year. The differences lie in die details that took later numismatists considerable effort to codify.
