Obverse description Central field dominated by the royal cypher of Sigismund III Vasa, rendered as an ornate interlaced 'S' monogram surmounted by a small crown, with the date split to either side: '15' at the left and '96' at the right. The Roman numeral 'III' denoting the denomination appears prominently at the top of the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with the coin's irregular flan edge characteristic of hammered production. Decorative foliate or pellet ornaments accompany the monogram in the lower field.
