The central inscription names the ruler Sayyid Muhammad Rahim Khan and invokes his titles, rendered in large, flowing strokes with interlocking letterforms characteristic of Central Asian Islamic coinage. A secondary marginal or lower register inscription, likely containing the mint name or a religious formula, runs along the lower portion of the flan. The relief is high and uneven, consistent with hand-struck production, and the surfaces show the typical irregularity of Khivan tenga coinage of this period. |
