| Obverse description | Irregularly shaped hammered silver flan bearing a bold, densely composed Arabic calligraphic legend in the nasta'liq style, filling the entire field. The central inscription names the ruler Sayyid Muhammad Rahim Khan and invokes his titles, rendered in large, flowing strokes with interlocking letterforms characteristic of Central Asian Islamic coinage. A secondary marginal or lower register inscription, likely containing the mint name or a religious formula, runs along the lower portion of the flan. The relief is high and uneven, consistent with hand-struck production, and the surfaces show the typical irregularity of Khivan tenga coinage of this period. |
