| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a crowned royal monogram combining the conjoined initials of Juan III and Catalina, surmounted by an ornate Gothic crown with fleurs-de-lis finials. The monogram is flanked by small pellets or annulets in the field. The design is contained within an inner beaded circle, with the circumferential Latin legend running between the inner circle and the outer toothed border of this crudely struck hammered billon coin. |
